SpaceX reschedules 13th Starship launch for Monday
by Danielle Haynes · UPIJuly 17 (UPI) -- SpaceX announced Friday that it has rescheduled its 13th launch of Starship for Monday, one day after being forced to scrub the test flight mid-countdown.
The 90-minute launch window is scheduled to open at 5:45 p.m. CDT at the company's spaceport in Starbase, Texas, along the southern coast.
SpaceX scrubbed the 13th planned test flight of the super heavy booster Thursday just as it was about to ignite its multiple engines.
"Standing down from today's flight test attempt," launch commanders posted on X.
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk later blamed the scrubbed flight on an engine ignition failure.
"Some of the engines didn't start, triggering an automatic launch abort," he said in a post on X. "Now offloading propellant. Next launch attempt hopefully in a few days.
Musk added that to ensure a successful flight in the next launch attempt, the company replaced two Raptor rocket engines.
SpaceX's stock fell about 4% Friday in the wake of the scrubbed flight, bringing it below its $135 IPO price for the sixth-straight day, CNBC reported.
