Missing British man, 32, found dead during Turkey holiday

Ben Crook was last seen at a hotel in the Antalya region of Turkey

The body of a British man who went missing while in Turkey has been found. Ben Crook was last seen in Antalya on Wednesday, September 25.

He reportedly had been at the Seven City Hotel when he was last spotted. His family launched a desperate plea for help to find him after realising he had vanished.

It is understood Gwent Police were working with Turkish authorities in a bid to locate Mr Crook. A relative of the 32-year-old shared on social media on Friday (October 4) the tragic news that a body had been found.

The Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office has since confirmed the news, WalesOnline reports. It said: "We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Turkey and we are in contact with the local authorities."

The Foreign Office had been supporting the family during the search. Mr Crook was from the Abertridwr area of Caerphilly.

During the hunt to find him, Mr Cook's family said he was last sighted in Kaleici in central Antalya. The missing man is believed to have been wearing black shorts, Nike trainers and a black Versace shirt.

People have taken to social media to express their sadness. One person said: "I've just read the very sad news. My heart goes put to his family rest in Peace Ben.

Another said: "Rest in peace.. This is heartbreaking."
