Arrests after Birmingham stab murder as police appeal to find wanted man

Five people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed to death in Birmingham. Police were hunting a sixth man as they appealed over his whereabouts.

Ekrimh Mena’a, 39, died after being found with stab wounds on Hunters Road, near the junction of Villa Road, in Lozells. It followed trouble just before 12.25am on Monday, September 30. A second man in his 20s was also seriously injured.

West Midlands Police said five men, aged between 21 and 38, were arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, following raid at addresses in Birmingham. They remained in custody for questioning.

As part of the police's inquiries they were also appealing to the public for their help to trace a sixth suspect. Police named him as Dahir Ali, 27, who was wanted on suspicion of murder. The force also issued a picture of him above.
