UK snow map shows seven counties in England will be only places spared this week

All the parts of England set to be spared a 15 inch snow blast and -10C temperatures this week have been revealed in a brand-new weather map. Maps and charts from Ventusky, and WX Charts, which both use Met Desk data, show the wintry conditions sweeping the country.

England won't be spared from the snowfall, which isn't just confined to Scotland. Instead, swathes of Yorkshire and Lancashire are due to be hit, with the yellow weather warnings from the Met Office in effect from tomorrow (Sunday) through to Tuesday.

As well as York, West Yorkshire, and North Yorkshire, Lancashire and the Pennines are forecast for flurries. The north east of England - from Northumbria to Cumbria - could also wake up to a dusting in the coming days, but the worst of the white stuff will be the Pennines, which could see 38cm dumped.

By Saturday November 23, the weather maps show a white hue over Birmingham and the Midlands too, stretching down to the south coast in Hampshire and Southampton. On these maps, London and Greater London are forecast to receive a dusting too, and Wales and Northern Ireland will see accumulations also. The places spared look likely to be the east of England - in particular Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk, as well as Essex. The south west - Cornwall and Devon - also looks unlikely to see the white stuff.

Gloucestershire may also be spared. The early Met Office forecast for the end of the week onwards, into December, explains: "Signals vary in prevailing weather patterns through early December. In general, there looks like a trend towards drier and more settled conditions, with high pressure potentially being the more dominant influence over the UK.

"However. there is also a chance of more changeable weather patterns, which would see Atlantic weather systems periodically move across the country. These will bring some wetter and windier interludes with a risk of some snow, especially for hills in the north. Temperatures generally close to average, perhaps a little above at times, especially in the south."
