She disappeared from her home in Malton, North Yorkshire, on September 30. Police said there was a 'significant possibility' she had entered the river after CCTV footage was found of the mum walking towards a play park near the water's edge

North Yorkshire Police's Assistant Chief Constable Wayne Fox told a press briefing today (Tuesday, October 22) that a body was found in the River Derwent, close to where she was last spotted. A number of her possessions were also located in that area.

But Ms Taylor's family has been informed and 'understandably, they are distressed by today's news', he said. Searches had been taking place along the river since Ms Taylor was reported missing on October 1.

Divers and specialist sonar equipment were deployed as part of search efforts. Police launched a desperate search for the nurse after she was reported missing.

Ms Taylor, who had a fiance and two-year-old daughter, left her home in Malton, North Yorkshire, at 9.30am on September 30. She was captured on CCTV at a BP garage.

Further footage showed her with this bag of items at Malton Bus Station. She was last seen on CCTV walking towards a riverside park at 12.30pm, where her purchased items were later recovered.
