Strictly Come Dancing hopeful Pete Wicks has shared what he finds attractive in women, beyond their physical appearance. The former TOWIE star is often romantically linked to women in the public eye, but recently confirmed that he's single and not ready to settle down just yet.

Prior to this revelation, 36-year-old Pete discussed his dating approach in his new book, Never Enough. In one chapter, he revealed that after witnessing his mother struggle to regain her independence following her divorce from his father, he realised he didn't want the same dynamic in his relationships.

He penned: "I had this idea that the men are supposed to go out and work, and the women stay home and look after the kids. That wasn’t the kind of life I wanted, and I didn’t expect that from a partner – I think ambition is one of the sexiest qualities in a woman – but it was something that had made its way into my head.

"I still always pay for everything when I take women on dates, even if they’re much more successful than me."

He added: "It's not about wanting to have the upper hand, it's just about feeling like I can provide something," reports the Manchester Evening News.

Pete's past relationships include romances with ex-co-stars Megan McKenna, Shelby Tribble and Chloe Sims.

More recently, he's been linked to Love Island's Maura Higgins and his Strictly partner Jowita Przystał, but he has since confirmed he's currently single.

After claims that he and Jowita kissed during their American Smooth on the show, he set the record straight on his Staying Relevant podcast with Sam Thompson. "They called it a passionate kiss, it's the choreography, and we didn't," he explained.

Discussing how the public views him after years on TOWIE, he added: "I had this bad boy persona, and that's my fault, but the person I am now is different to the person I was 11 years ago, and the person I am now is different to the person I will be in 11 years.

"You as a person move on, but the narrative doesn't."
