by Katy Hallam, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/authors/katy-hallam/ · Birmingham LiveStrictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke distracted viewers during the live show with the 'most unfortunate comment'. The professional dancer-turned-judge was giving his critique about opera singer Wynne Evans' performance with Katya Jones on Saturday night when fans flooded the social media hashtag with comments.
Wynne was paying tribute to Shirley Bassey for icons week and surprised everyone when he burst into song at the end of his performance, showing off his incredible strong vocal chords. Host tess Daly told the star he had 'blown the hairs off her arms'.
Anton told the star: "The best ending to any number I've ever seen in my entire life. Unbelievable." But it was his next comments that raised eyebrows with fans.

He said: "I want you to be aware of your spacial awareness to your partner you get either a bit too close to her or a bit too far away from her...apart from that I want you to carry on as you are as your technique is looking marvellous."
Earlier in the competition, Wynne and Katya were forced to apologise after their backstage antics sparked a blacklash from fans. Katya was spotted moving Wynne's hand away from her waist and refusing to return a high-give during one live show.
Viewers took to X, with one saying: "'You get a bit too close to her"...awkward Anton, AWKWARD!." A second said: "Anton, talking about Wynne getting too close, to his partner ! #LeaveIt."
A third added: "Anton...most unfortunate comment ever about Wynne's spacial awareness on relation to his partner."
Wynne confessed his latest Strictly performance was emotional for him, speaking about having gone through some 'very dark times'. He urged audience members to love themselves.
Wynne and Katya scored 30 points out of 40 for their icons week routine.
