Police are allegedly investigating Liam Payne’s tragic death and plan to hunt a drug dealer after pictures from inside the Buenos Aires hotel suite allegedly show "white powder" in the star’s room. Cops are now planning to test the items allegedly found in his room, the Sun newspaper reports.

Clarin published the images alongside the claim: "Damage and drugs in the hotel room Liam Payne was staying in in Buenos Aires." Cops will now test the alleged items to see if they are illegal substances, and look into who may have supplied them.

Payne has previously been open about his alcohol abuse. In 2023, he opened up about having spent about 100 days in rehab and that he was six months sober in a YouTube video. On Wednesday, the “Steal My Girl” crooner fell from his third-floor hotel room in Argentina.

He was reportedly acting erratically before the tragedy and even smashed his laptop in the hotel lobby. Ultimately, Payne was purportedly carried to his room. The 911 call audio released by a local Argentinian TV broadcast revealed that the hotel owner described Payne as a “guest who is on drugs and is destroying the whole room,” calling for assistance.

The One Direction singer star was found dead at around 5 pm local time. He embarked on his Argentinian trip earlier this year to reconcile with former bandmate Niall Horan, who was scheduled to perform in the South American country.

Payne’s death was a “tragic end for someone so young”, according to Commons Leader Lucy Powell. She told the Commons: “Can I also send condolences to the friends and family of Liam Payne. One Direction was loved by millions across the world and this was a tragic end for someone so young.”

Greg James said: “I want to celebrate Liam. I’ve only interviewed him a couple of times because they (One Direction) were always flying off around the world, we barely got to see them, but when we did it was always so fun.

“And he loved fun, he was funny, he was sweet”.
