Strictly's Pete Wicks' future plans with Maura Higgins as pair set for time apart

Strictly star Pete Wicks is reportedly planning a romantic getaway with rumoured love interest Maura Higgins - after the pair have finished with their respective reality shows.

Pete, 36, is still competing on BBC dancing show Strictly, while Maura, 33, has reportedly jetted out to Australia to appear on I'm A Celebrity, which starts tomorrow (Sunday, November 17).

That means the pair are set for some time apart in the run up to Christmas, but they will aim to rekindle their budding romance with a romantic break, either over the festive season or at the start of next year.

A source close to the couple told Heat: "Pete and Maura have both been super busy lately. He's been working flat out on Strictly, and she's been preparing for the jungle.

"They've tried to make as much time for one another as they can, but it's not been easy.

"That's why they've decided that when things calm down, they will go away on holiday together. It will either be over Christmas, which would be really special, or in early January to kick off 2025."

Pete is dancing with Jowita Przystal on Strictly, although the couple are one of the favourites to be booted off the show this weekend.

He was first linked to Maura in August this year when the pair were spotted kissing, and Pete was photographed leaving her home in Essex in October after celebrating his 36th birthday.

Neither of the couple have officially confirmed that they are an item, but Irish former Love Island contestant Maura recently gushed about her rumoured beau on Paul C Brunson's podcast.

She said: "We just get on very, very well. I adore him, he's an amazing person. We met very soon after coming off Love Island and we clicked instantly."

Earlier this week Pete and Maura were pictured on a final 'date' night before she jetted off Down Under.
