James Corden has opened up about the challenges of marriage, discussing the difficult aspects of his 12-year relationship with wife Julia Carey. The esteemed Gavin and Stacey star, father to three kids with Julia, shared insights into his family life during an intimate conversation with Prime Video, having tied the knot in 2012 after a three-year courtship.

Corden candidly acknowledged the demanding nature of marriage, highlighting the importance of mutual growth. He confessed: "It's funny with marriage-no one ever really talks about just how f****** hard it is sometimes. Like, the sacrifice that you and your partner have to make."

Corden delved deeper into the concept of personal development within marriage, remarking, "What you're both trying to do is grow together, knowing that you're never staying the same. You're constantly evolving."

"And if you're not evolving, then you might as well be dead: you have to be moving and evolving at the same time as someone else.", reports the Mirror.

Introduced to his wife by Dominic Cooper, his friend and co-star from 'The History Boys', the 46 year old made a splash in the US when he took over 'The Late, Late Show' in 2013, making a name for himself in Hollywood. Yet, the 'Fat Friends' star hit the headlines in 2022 when he revealed, according to the New York Post, his plans to leave his late-night show the following year, citing personal reasons.

He commented: "My son was 3 when we moved [to America], my daughter was 12 weeks. When we left, he was 12, my daughter was 8, and our younger daughter - who is an American, and we treat her as such...No, really for us, it was the notion that it was time.

"We wanted them to know their grandparents. And with my son finishing 6th grade, it was just an absolute pull to go home, and root that period of their lives in - we wanted them to know Britain, and their extended family."

Additionally, during a December 2022 conversation on The Morning Show, James divulged more about his choice to step down from The Late Late Show, noting: "The reason to leave is we're a long way from home in Los Angeles. And there [are] people at home that are getting older, and we want our kids to know them and be around them."

Following his departure from the talk show, James Corden, together with his wife Julia, a TV producer by profession, has comfortably reintegrated into UK life in Belsize Park, North London, alongside their kids Max, aged 12, Carey, 9, and Charlotte, 7 years old. Do keep an eye out for Gavin and Stacey: The Finale, scheduled for broadcast on Christmas Day at 9pm on BBC One.
