Death In Paradise star teases comeback after surprise exit but has one condition

Death In Paradise star Tahj Miles has teased he could return to the BBC show in the future, but only if it 'makes sense' for his character Marlon Pryce

Tahj Miles has hinted at the possibility of a major comeback on Death In Paradise.

The star, who is now in Mr Loverman, joined the beloved BBC detective series in its tenth outing as Marlon Pryce, a small-time crook who got involved with the show's police team via a rehabilitation programme. Tahj's character recently exited the tropical island of Saint Marie to move to Jamaica and be there for his younger sibling after she landed an educational scholarship.

Many former faces have made their way back to the hit series over the years, including favourites such as Camille Bordey and Florence Cassell. Now, Tahj has dropped a hint that he might one day make an epic return but only if it aligns with the show's narrative.

In a chat with Radio Times, Tahj said: "I never say no to anything. My character didn't die, so the door's always open. But it just has to make sense. It all has to make sense. So just know that on my end, it made sense to me.

"And if you don't see me on the show for the next two, three years, just know that it doesn't make sense in that moment in time, for whatever reason, whether it's just what I'm doing personally in my life, the direction they're going in on the show, the direction they want to bring the character back into. If I'm back, it's because it makes sense."

He continued by saying that the opportunity for his character's return would remain "open" if it fitted well within the storyline.

"I don't like doing things that don't make sense. That's when we get into a whole bunch of problems. But never say never. The door's open. So we'll see, we'll see," he shared about the possibility of making a comeback to the series.

In other news, another cast member has decided against returning to the series for the time being.

During an Instagram Q&A with followers, Josephine Jobert, who portrays Florence Cassell, responded: "Not really. I had a great time and I made the best out of it. I have amazing memories and met amazing people too. But it's time to move on.

"I think I can safely say no. I've already left and come back many times and I've definitely done my time on the show. I've finally been able to say goodbye to Florence and I am very grateful to have been part of this project that has brought so many lovely things in my life. I am also happy to be able to move on and take part in new projects."
