BBC Children in Need star Rochelle Humes' 'rule' with husband Marvin to make relationship work

by · Birmingham Live

Rochelle Humes and her husband Marvin are one of TV's golden couples - but the star revealed they have to have a strict rule in place to make their relationship work. The former Saturdays singer married Marvin in 2012 and they are now parents to Alaia-Mai, Valentina Raine and Blake Hampton.

The 35 year old star admitted that they occasionally get "p****d off" with each other and their busy lifestyle means they 'can't both shine at once'.

In a candid chat with Women's Health, Rochelle previously explained: "If I'm p***** off, I'm telling him; if he's p***** off, he's telling me. We're not mind readers.

"We know we love each other and all of that...But there's a lot that comes in the middle of that three kids, work, life."

She added: "We've always had this rule that we can't both shine at once. So, if he's on tour, I'm gonna pull back...I'm on the school run because we always make sure it's one of us on the school run and working in the school hours."

Marvin, 39, became a client of her management company The RH Group last year. And This Morning presenter Rochelle, 35, said: “No one is ever going to have his back like me.”

Marvin agrees the management setup is working well, adding: “Roch was always the boss anyway so it’s no different now. On a serious note though, we’ve always discussed our careers and made decisions together so it makes no difference.

“I don’t think about the mechanics of it, it just works. We are still married so we must be doing something right. Plus we make more money if we keep it in the family.”

Marvin’s career has included a stint on I’m A Celebrity last year, Rochelle helps host Ninja Warrior and together they host BBC musical quiz show The Hit List. Marvin is a radio DJ too, and says his move to a daytime show on KISS means he can spend more time with his family. He says: “Between Roch and I we are really busy.

“But [the kids] are always our priority. I get to do the school run, go to work, and then pick the kids up.” Rochelle, who also has her own baby skincare and haircare brand My Little Coco, set up RH Group last year.
