- This unusually large simultaneous launch spans budget to premium segments, offering advanced features like high-refresh displays and powerful processors across different price points.
Motorola has announced eight (yes, eight) new smartphones across three distinct smartphone categories, incorporating fresh entries to the Razr, Edge, and G-series.
We have to confess to being a little perplexed at Motorola’s decision to splurge out on smartphone announcements in such a fashion.
Imagine if Samsung had announced the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy A57, Galaxy A37 and the Galaxy A27 all at once, together with an extra Flip 7 and some other random affordable phone variant for good measure. That’s pretty much what Motorola has done here.
Don’t worry, though, because I’m here to help you cut through the noise and the befuddlement. What follows is as succinct a summary of Motorola’s new line-up(s) as I can muster. Here goes.
I’ve focused on the five phones that will actually launch in Europe, for starters.
Motorola Razr 70 Ultra
The headline announcement has to be the Motorola Razr 70 Ultra (called the Razr Ultra (2026) in the US), which follows up on the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra with a premium clamshell foldable package.
It offers a 6.96-inch 165Hz internal AMOLED display with a 5000 nits peak brightness, with a 4-inch external display. It’s being offered in a Pantone Cocoa finish, with a natural wood veneer.
There’s Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic on the external screen.
Its triple camera system is led by a new 50Mp LOFIC sensor that produces up to six times more dynamic range than before, aided by a 50Mp ultra-wide and macro vision lens.
The Ultra is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which is exactly the same as the Razr 60 Ultra before it. There’s a 5000mAh battery running the show, with 68W wired and 30W wireless charging support.
The Motorola Razr 70 Ultra is available for £1,199.99/€ 1,299.99, and you can read our hands-on impressions already.
Motorola Razr 70
The regular Razr 70 (or Razr (2026) in the US) gives you a 6.9-inch internal AMOLED display, and a 3.63-inch external screen. It’s being offered in a Pantone Hematite woven-inspired finish; Pantone Violet Ice and Pantone Sporting Green in a soft luxe finish, and Pantone Bright White in Acetate.
There’s Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on the outer display.
You can count on a dual 50Mp main camera system on the back, which includes a 50Mp ultra-wide that also pulls macro duty. Selfies are handled by a 32Mp internal camera. It’s powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7450X processor.
There’s also a 4800mAh battery with 30W wired and 15W wireless charging support.
The Razr 70 is selling for £799.99/€899.99 from Motorola and the usual retailers.
Motorola Edge 70 Pro
There’s a new entry to the Motorola Edge 70 series in the Motorola Edge 70 Pro. This offers the thinnest (7.19mm) and lightest phone in its category, with four material-inspired finishes – Pantone Zinfandel (silk), Pantone Chicory Coffee (natural wood), Pantone Titan (wool), and Pantone Lily White (acetate). Yes, I did just say wool.
It’s fronted by a 6.8-inch 1.5K Extreme AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, and it can hit 5200 nits of brightness. The Edge 70 Pro is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme chip.
This is also the only quadruple 50Mp camera system in its class, led by a 50Mp Sony LYTIA 710 sensor, and backed by a 50Mp 3.5x telephoto camera.
There’s a sizeable 6500mAh battery onboard, as well as 90W wired and 15W wireless charging support.
It’s available from the usual retailers for £749.99/€849.99.
Moto G87
Motorola’s new leading affordable phone brings the best camera ever to the popular G-series, a follow-up to the Moto G86. It’s led by a 200Mp main camera sensor, with an 8Mp ultra-wide and a 32Mp selfie cam.
Around front, there’s a 6.78-inch Extreme AMOLED 1.5K display with a 5000 nits peak brightness, while build quality is on point with IP66/IP68/IP69 certifications, as well as MIL‑STD‑810H durability.
It’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chip with up to 12GB of RAM, and there’s a 5200 mAh battery running the show. 30W wired charging support completes the package.
The Moto G87 will set you back £349.99/€379.99 putting it in the mid-range category.
Moto G37
The Moto G37 gives you a 7000mAh battery, 30W wired charging, and a 50Mp camera.
It’s fronted by a 6.67-inch 120Hz LCD, and is powered by an unspecified MediaTek Dimensity processor. It also boasts IP64 water resistance and MIL-STD-810H durability.
The G37 costs £199.99/€209.99, making it a contender for the best budget phone crown.
Just one more thing
That’s not all that Motorola had to announce, but these are the phones bound for Europe and the UK.
The Motorola Razr 70 Plus (situated somewhere in between the Razr 70 and the 70 Ultra), the Moto G47, and the Moto G37 Power were also unveiled, but in the absence of any availability or pricing information, I’ve opted to skip a deeper dive.
Oh, and the company also announced the Brilliant Collection, which features the Motorola Signature and Moto Buds 2 Plus relaunched with added Crystals by Swarovski. Glitzy.
That’s it. I’m off to have a nice lie down in a dark room. Please don’t ever launch so many new devices at the same time again, Motorola.
