Apple teases a New Product Launch for Next Week

by · Android Headlines

This week, we were expecting to get a handful of new products. But all we got was the new Beats PowerBeats Pro 2 and the Apple TV app for Android (which is pretty huge).

However, today, Apple CEO Tim Cook posted on X “Get ready to meet the newest member of the family. Wednesday, February 19” with a hashtag of #AppleLaunch.

This is a bit mysterious, and many of us are expecting to see the iPhone SE 4 announced then. However, the “newest member of the family” leads us to believe that this might be something new altogether. There have been rumors of the “SE” being renamed to the “iPhone 16E”, which could be enough to be a “new member”. Of course, this could also be a totally different product.

Apple’s graphic shows its logo in a flowy silver

Typically, the graphic that Apple shares for a new product launch can give us a hint as to what to expect from that launch. However, this time it’s a bit harder. As the logo just has a flowing silver material. This is probably referring to the all-new design of the iPhone SE, or iPhone 16E.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently noted that the iPhone SE was going to be announced: “by next week”. So the timing does lineup. Of course, Apple could launch the iPhone Air along with an SE model, but we’ll have to wait until next week to find out. The timing is a bit interesting to us here at AndroidHeadlines, as it’s the day before the OPPO Find N5 launch. Though that likely has nothing to do with Apple’s reasoning for this date.

Apple could also be launching a new spring color for the iPhone 16 series, though, I don’t think that would be enough to be a “new member of the family”. Apple also typically launches the spring colors in March or early April.
