Verizon details November security patch for Pixel phones before Google

Google is yet to roll out the November 2024 security patch for Pixel phones, but we now know what to expect, all thanks to Verizon.
Verizon details what the November security patch would bring for Google Pixel phones
Yesterday, folks over at 9to5Google spotted a support page on the Verizon website that details what to expect when the November 2024 security patch lands. Per the support page, the latest security patch should have been released yesterday i.e. November 5. Interestingly, Google hasn’t announced anything yet. However, we expect the company to officially roll out the security patch in the coming days.
The changelog published by Verizon includes details about the latest security patch coming to the Google Pixel 9 series. There are also details of what’s incoming for the Pixel 6, Pixel 7, and Pixel 8 series. The changelog for the November Pixel security patch for supported devices other than the Pixel 9 series is quite basic.
It reads “The current software update provides: The most up-to-date Android security patches on your device. General improvements for performance and stability in certain UI transitions and animations.” However, the changelog for the Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold details a bunch of changes and bug fixes.
There are a bunch of bug fixes for the Google Pixel 9 series
The November Pixel security patch addresses an issue with Bluetooth range and camera tilt while zooming. Additionally, the latest security patch also resolves the issue that prevented Adaptive brightness from activating in some situations.
The November security patch for the Pixel 9 series also fixes an issue that displayed white dots to flash in certain conditions. Besides, there is a fix for an issue related to the keyboard dismiss button. Talking of user interface, the new update brings “general improvements for performance and stability in certain UI transitions and animations.”
More importantly, the upcoming update will improve the overall performance and stability of the device. The new software update for the Pixel 9 series will be available with version number AP3A.241105.008. So, make sure to keep an eye on it.
When you receive an update notification, open it and tap the Update option. If you have cleared the notification or your device has been offline, head to the Settings app. Then, tap System > System update. Finally, follow the on-screen prompts to update your device.
