After man found dead, armed police guard street in Lower Hutt

Armed police were guarding a section of Malone Road in Lower Hutt today and they cordoned off a section of the street.

Police said they received a report at 8.15 about a man on the ground outside a house. Emergency services confirmed the man had died.

RNZ reported that people in white forensics suits were taking photos of items on the grass berm.

A tent was set up across the footpath and part of the street, and a marquee has been erected on a front garden.

The road was cordoned off between Bauchop Road and Galway Street.
