Ghana Sangoma: 'I'm working on Harry Kane'

by · KickOff

A famous Ghanaian traditional healer has made a startling promise ahead of one of the Black Stars' biggest tests at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, claiming he is already working behind the scenes to help his nation secure victory.

African giants Ghana will face England at Boston Stadium on Tuesday evening in their second Group L fixture, with kick-off scheduled for 22:00.

Kane targeted ahead of England clash

The Black Stars, led by former Bafana Bafana coach Carlos Queiroz, enjoyed a positive start to the tournament after grinding out a 1-0 victory over Panama in their opening match.

A win or even a draw against England could significantly boost Ghana's hopes of progressing to the Round of 32, but one supporter believes he can influence the outcome long before kick-off.

Traditional healer Shaman Nana Kwaku Bonsam, popularly known as the 'Devil of Wednesday', has vowed to use his spiritual powers to ensure England captain Harry Kane does not cause problems for Ghana.

Kane is widely regarded as England's talisman and remains one of the most feared strikers in world football.

The Three Lions often look to their captain for inspiration, goals and leadership in major tournaments, making him a key figure Ghana will need to contain.

However, Bonsam has indicated that he is not seeking to injure Kane, but rather to blunt his effectiveness and prevent the England star from finding the back of the net when the two nations meet.

"I am working on Harry Kane," a confident Kwaku Bonsam told Daily Star.

"I have shown what I am capable of before, so I know what work I must do to stop him. I am very famous for my predictions.

"I am not wishing him serious injury. It will be just enough to stop him against my country. I will do my work so that it can help Ghana."

Not his first bold promise

According to the report, this is not the first time Bonsam has made such claims.

Ahead of Ghana's clash with Portugal at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, he famously alleged that he had played a role in causing a knee problem that threatened Cristiano Ronaldo's participation in the match.
