Baby Doll singer Kanika Kapoor annouces divorce

Her Bollywood breakthrough came two years later with ‘Baby Doll’, the Ragini MMS 2 track featuring Sunny Leone

Mumbai: Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor has announced that she and her husband, businessman Gautam Hathiramani, are going their separate ways after four years of marriage. The ‘Baby Doll’ singer shared the news on Instagram Stories in a personal note addressed to her friends and family.

“After much thought and consideration, my husband and I are going our separate ways,” Kanika wrote. “I am grateful for the time we shared and wish him well for the future.”

Kanika kept the reason for their separation private. She closed the note with a request for those reading it. “I sincerely ask for kindness and respect for our privacy as we move forward.”

Who is Gautam Hathiramani?

Kanika and Gautam were best friends long before they became husband and wife. In an interview shortly after their London wedding in May 2022, Kanika said their friendship went back nearly 15 years. At the time of their marriage, Gautam was deputy managing director of the Dana Group, whose businesses include aviation, automobiles and manufacturing.

Kanika was previously married to businessman Raj Chandok. She has three children from her first marriage.

From ‘Jugni Ji’ to ‘Baby Doll’

Kanika first caught listeners’ attention with ‘Jugni Ji’ in 2012. Her Bollywood breakthrough came two years later with ‘Baby Doll’, the Ragini MMS 2 track featuring Sunny Leone. She went on to sing two more familiar Bollywood dance numbers, ‘Lovely’ for Deepika Padukone in Happy New Year and ‘Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan’ for Jacqueline Fernandez in Roy.
