83-year-old killed in Las Vegas crosswalk crash
by Staff · Las Vegas Review-JournalAn 83-year-old Las Vegas woman was killed Monday morning when she was struck by a pickup while she walked in a crosswalk in southeast Las Vegas, police said.
The Metropolitan Police Department said in a press release the woman was at the intersection of South Pecos Road and East Hacienda Avenue at 7:11 a.m. when she was struck by a 2023 Ford F-350. The driver of the truck, a 51-year-old man from Las Vegas, was traveling west on Hacienda and attempting to make a left turn on a solid green light at the time.
The woman was rushed to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where she died.
The driver remained at the scene and did not show signs of impairment, police said. The fatality remains under investigation by police.
