Adam Peaty makes a BIG statement by changing his name after marrying Holly Ramsay amid family feud

Adam Peaty has distanced himself from his family even further by changing his name after marrying Holly Ramsay.

The Olympic swimmer married influencer Holly, the daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, at Bath Abbey on Saturday, which was followed by a reception at the lavish Kin House.

The 31-year-old has since made a huge statement by changing his name on social media to Adam Ramsay Peaty.

Brooklyn Beckham did the same thing when he married his American wife Nicola Peltz in 2022, changing his name to Brooklyn Peltz Beckham on Instagram.

Similar to Adam, Brooklyn has also cut ties with his parents David and Victoria Beckham, which is why he didn’t attend Adam and Holly’s wedding over the weekend, despite being a childhood friend of the bride.

While a host of famous faces attended the wedding, including the Beckham’s, Adam decided to bar his relatives from the event, except his sister Bethany – who was one of Holly’s bridesmaids.

Amid Adam’s ongoing family feud, insiders have claimed Holly’s celebrity chef dad Gordon waded in on the drama during his father of the bride speech.

According to The Sun, the 59-year-old reassured the newlyweds that his wife Tana “will be a good mum to them both”.

Gordon also reportedly commented on how beautiful Holly looked, and told Adam he was a “lucky man”, adding: “Look at Tana and that’s what you have to look forward to.”

The publication then claimed Gordon told his daughter Holly, “Shame you don’t have the same,” referencing the absence of Adam’s parents.

Goss.ie has reached out to Gordon’s rep for a comment.

It’s understood Adam did not mention his parents in his speech, and instead praised his swim coach Mel Marshall for being his “everything” and for “grounding and inspiring” him.

He also reportedly said that Mel was “like a mum” to him.

The Olympian also thanked their guests for their support during a “difficult time”, hinting at the ongoing drama with his family.

According to reports, the Peaty family feud kicked off when Adam’s mum Caroline was not invited to Holly’s hen party at Soho Farmhouse.

The feud then escalated when the police were called after Adam’s brother James allegedly made threats via text while Adam was on his stag do.

According to the Daily Mail, Adam received a brutal text from his estranged aunt just moments before walking down the aisle to marry Holly.

Her text allegedly read: “I hope you never suffer the depth of pain you have put your mother through and despite it all she loves you still. Shame on you both. Shame.

“Remember on this, your happiest day, and on each anniversary of your happiest day, that you hurt your mum so deeply her soul screams.”

However, it’s understood Adam did not receive or read the message as he has blocked members of his family.

A pal told The Sun: “Nothing interrupted what was a peaceful, joyous day with those closest to Holly and Adam.

“The ceremony was magical and the reception very emotional, there were a lot of tears.

“Gordon made an amazing speech that had everyone laughing and crying. None of the outside noise overshadowed what was an occasion filled with heartfelt joy and happiness for two people who are very much in love.”

Holly wore two dresses at the reception — including her mum Tana’s original wedding gown, which she wore when she wed Gordon in 1996.

Among the A-list guests at the nuptials were the Ramsay’s longtime family friends David and Victoria Beckham, plus their sons Romeo and Cruz, and daughter Harper.

Holly’s bridesmaids wore red dresses designed by Victoria, while her mum Tana wore a similar style dress in green.

Other celebrities spotted at the wedding included TV presenter Dan Walker and Dragon’s Den star Sara Davies.
