Katy Perry has hinted at the real reason behind her split from Orlando Bloom in her latest single, Bandaids.

The 41-year-old split from the actor, 48, in June after almost 10 years together.

The former couple have continued to amicably co-parent their daughter Daisy, but now Katy has shared an insight into the end of their relationship.

In the song, she sings: “Hand to God, I promise I tried / There’s no stone left unturned / It’s not what you did / It’s what you didn’t / You were there, but you weren’t.”

“Got so used to you letting me down / No use tryna send flowers now / Telling myself you’ll change, you don’t / Band-Aids over a broken heart.”

“Tried all the medications / Lowered my expectations,” the lyrics read. “Made every justification / Bleeding out, bleeding out, bleeding out slow.”

Katy also sings about trying to save their relationship, despite her partner not putting in any effort.

“It’s not that complicated / To ask me how my day is,” she sings. “I’m flatlining trying to save this.”

However, the song ends on a lighter note as Katy sings: “If I had to do it all over again / I would still do it all over again / The love that we made was worth it in the end.”

While she doesn’t specifically name Orlando in the song, the music video has plenty of obvious references to their relationship.

As she sings about the relationship being “worth it at the end,” she sees a daisy — a nod to their 5-year-old daughter.

Since their split earlier this year, Katy has moved on and is now dating Justin Trudeau, the former Prime Minister of Canada.

The couple recently went public with their romance, and the 53-year-old politician is said to be “crazy about her and thinks she is the perfect woman”.
