Facebook and Instagram users report outages. Here's what to know

Facebook and Instagram users reported outages on Meta's social media platforms Friday morning.

Reports began spiking on DownDetector around 9:30 a.m. ET. It peaked around 10 a.m. ET with more than 110,000 users reporting issues with Facebook's website and mobile app.

"We're aware people are currently having trouble accessing our services. We're working on it," Meta spokesperson Andy Stone wrote on X at 10:11 a.m. ET.

Stone followed up at 11:41 a.m. ET and said "We're coming back, though it may take a bit of time for everything to be fully back to normal."

By 1 p.m. ET, there were less than 1,000 outages reported on both Facebook and Instagram, according to DownDetector.

Meta's status page listed "High disruptions" for Facebooks Ads Manager Friday morning, as well.

"We are aware that some advertisers may be having trouble creating or editing their ads in Ads Manager. Our engineering teams are aware and are actively looking to resolve the issue as quickly as possible," the status page explained at 10:12 a.m. ET.

Meta's status page said at 12:55 p.m. ET that the issue was resolved and apologized "for any inconvenience that this may have caused."

Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp also experienced issues Friday morning.
