Chittagong brutality: Bangladesh Army and Police’s late-night assault on Hindus exposes state-sponsored purge
by https://www.facebook.com/tfipost, TFI Desk · TFIPOST.comLast night, the world witnessed clear signs of Hinduphobia and how the Bangladeshi establishment is directly involved in the brutal repression of Bengali Hindus. Incidentally, the Bangladesh army and Police launched a barbaric late-night attack on Hindus living in Chittagong’s Hazari Gali. They destroyed the CCTV footage to erase evidence of atrocities being unleashed on Hindu residents. Social media has been flooded with videos of the late-night attack.
Notably, this fresh round of atrocities started when the Hindu community staged a protest after a Muslim trader named Osman Mollah made a derogatory Facebook post. In his post, he called ISKCON a “terrorist organisation” which stirred major outrage among the Hindu community. However, instead of taking action against the Islamist miscreant, Osman Mollah, the Police shifted him to “safe custody” while they assaulted Hindus with batons, stormed their residences, and destroyed CCTV footage in pitch dark atmosphere. They also arrested over a hundred members of the Hindu community. As per reports, some of them were later released.
The Bangladeshi forces defended their crackdown on the flimsy ground that the Hindus were attacking them with bricks and acid.
According to Bangladeshi media reports, the Police and Bangladeshi army also resorted to firing and firing blank shots to further terrorise the Hindu community.
