A Chennai-based woman, Suganya alias Safa Mariyum, has accused her employer, Syed Ibrahim, of forcing her to convert from Hinduism to another religion, sexually exploiting her under the promise of marriage, and cheating her of approximately ₹13 lakh. Police registered a case after she filed a formal complaint on May 6. An investigation is currently underway.

The complainant has also informed that Syed Ibrahim is now planning to marry another woman. According to her complaint, the wedding is scheduled for around May 20. She has stated that she was misled over a sustained period despite repeated assurances of marriage.

Workplace Relationship Allegedly Turned Personal

According to the complaint filed with the police, Syed Ibrahim, who employed Suganya, initially had a professional relationship with her. She has gradually turned this workplace association into a personal relationship.

She claimed that during this period, he repeatedly assured her of marriage. These assurances, she alleges, formed the basis of her continued involvement in the relationship and her trust in him.

Alleged Pressure to Convert Religion

A central allegation in the complaint is that Syed Ibrahim made her convert from Hinduism to another religion. Suganya has stated that this conversion was linked to his promise of marriage.

She has alleged that she accepted the conversion based on emotional pressure and repeated assurances that marriage would follow. According to her complaint, the promised marriage did not take place after the conversion.

Sexual Exploitation Under Marriage Promise Alleged

Suganya has also accused Syed Ibrahim of sexually exploiting her during the course of the relationship. She has alleged that the promise of marriage was repeatedly used to maintain trust and continue the relationship.

These allegations form part of her formal police statement. Authorities have not yet verified the claims, and they remain under investigation.

Financial Fraud Allegation of ₹13 Lakh

In addition to personal allegations, Suganya has accused Syed Ibrahim of cheating her out of around ₹13 lakh. She has claimed that the money was taken from her over the course of the relationship.

According to her complaint, she transferred or provided the money under the belief that they were building a shared future leading to marriage. She now alleges that this trust was misused and that the transactions were part of a broader pattern of deception.

Allegation of Planned Marriage to Another Woman

The complaint further states that Syed Ibrahim is now preparing to marry another woman. The wedding is reportedly scheduled around May 20, as per the details mentioned in the complaint.

Suganya has cited this development as evidence that she was misled throughout the relationship despite repeated assurances of marriage.

Police Case Registered, Probe Underway

Following her complaint on May 6, police registered a case against Syed Ibrahim. Officials have begun investigating allegations of conversion, sexual exploitation, financial fraud, and breach of trust.

The accused has not issued any public statement in response to the allegations. The matter remains under investigation as police examine statements, financial transactions, and other supporting material submitted by the complainant.
