Eagles’ Hurts to miss game against Panthers with blood clot
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will miss Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers due to a blood clot, the team announced Thursday.
The Eagles did not provide a timeline for his return.
Hurts first reported a problem with his calf following a practice on Oct. 8 after he took a cleat to the area during a loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Oct. 4.

It didn’t keep him from traveling with the team to London for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
“Out of an abundance of caution, an ultrasound was performed on Saturday following the team’s flight to London and walkthrough,” the Eagles said in a statement. “The ultrasound revealed a superficial blood clot.”
Even so, team officials determined that he could safely play against Jacksonville.
Sunday’s game in Philadelphia between the 2-3 Eagles and 2-2 Panthers is off the table, though.
“On Wednesday night, a follow-up ultrasound revealed movement in the small blood clot,” Philadelphia’s officials said. “Jalen will be out for Sunday’s game vs. the Carolina Panthers as we determine the appropriate course for treatment. His health and safety are our highest priority.”
