My career as a politician will end if Kennedy Agyapong becomes the president- Adwoa Sarfo cries “blood”
by Mzta Churchill · GHANA PAGEFormer member of parliament and a staunch member of the opposition NPP party, Hon. Adwoa Sarfo has disclosed why she has thrown her support for former vice president, Dr. Bawumia ahead of the NPP primaries slated for January 2026.
Speaking before the grassroots of the NPP, Hon. Adwoa Sarfo implored them to vote massively for Dr. Bawumia even though Kennedy Agyapong is her baby daddy.
Adwoa Sarfo noted that even though she and Hon. Kennedy Agyapong have children, she thinks Dr. Bawumia best fit for the position of president, hence, the grassroots of the NPP should apply sense and choose wisely when the time comes.
She noted that, she doesn’t in any way hate Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, but she is just ensuring that NPP and Ghana at large get the best as far as the country is concerned.
“I am a politician and Kennedy Agyapong is also a politician. We all have different mindsets. Kennedy Agyapong has his ambition and I also have mine. Because of that, we all go to places where we will have our peace and support those we want”, she said.
Speaking on the rapport that exists between her and Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, Hon. Adwoa Sarfo said “I do not hate Kennedy Agyapong,” she stated. “I have two kids with him, a boy and a girl. But in politics, we do not do family and friends”, revealing that “We went into government to do family and friends, and I have sworn that I will not do anything like family and friends. I support those who are competent and who can do the work.”
Adwoa Sarfo expressed worry should if Hon. Kennedy Agyapong stood taller than Dr. Bawumia, noting that her political ambition would come to an end. “Let’s assume he wins power and sees my CV and the work I have done for this party and for Ghana,” she said. “If he decides to appoint me as a minister for something, there would be chaos in Ghana. He will never do that”, she said.
She concluded that “My political ambition is at stake. My future is at stake. “That is why I have chosen to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, because it is with him that my future lies.”
