PSV face both Madrid sides in UEFA Champions League; Feyenoord travel to Barcelona

PSV will face both Madrid sides in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League this season; the other Dutch representative in the competition, Feyenoord, will also face a Spanish side in Barcelona. PSV, the reigning champions of the Eredivisie, will host Atletico Madrid and travel to the same city to face Real at the Bernabeu stadium, the draw held in Monaco on Thursday showed.

Their other opponents are Club Brugge, FC Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk, RB Leipzig, VFB Stuttgart and one of the biggest surprise inclusions in the competition this season, Viking from Norway.

Feyenoord seem to have a more challenging fixture list than PSV in the main European competition this season. In addition to facing Barcelona, they will welcome Internazionale, Como, FC Porto, and Leipzig. They will travel to Barcelona, Real Betis, Galatasaray, and Viking.

It will be a return to the Netherlands for former Ajax manager Francesco Farioli, who is currently managing FC Porto. The Italian lost the title on the final day to PSV two seasons ago, and now returns having won the Portuguese league with Porto.

PSV will also face a former player in Denzel Dumfries. The right-back left PSV in 2021 to join Inter but will now face his former side for Real Madrid.

Feyenoord are returning to the Champions League after playing in the Europa League last season. They will be hoping to match the result they achieved last time they were in the competition, when they made it to the play-off round before eliminating AC Milan.

PSV had a disappointing season in the competition in 2025-26. Peter Bosz’s side could not convert their dominance in the Netherlands to Europe and fell at the first hurdle.

The dates for the fixtures are yet to be announced.
