Hundreds protest in The Hague after U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran

Hundreds of people gathered at Malieveld in The Hague on Saturday afternoon to protest in support of the Iranian people and against the Iranian regime, following attacks by Israel and the United States. The demonstration began at 2:00 p.m., and more participants continued arriving an hour later, according to an ANP reporter.

Many attendees reportedly carried Iranian flags. Israeli flags were also visible, and some held signs featuring Reza Pahlavi, the former crown prince of Iran, who has called for an uprising against Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Organizers planned a march around Malieveld later in the afternoon, expected to conclude by 5:00 p.m.

Earlier in the day, around noon, Regio15 reported a small group demonstrating against the Iranian regime outside the Iranian embassy in The Hague. The municipal government of The Hague confirmed it was facilitating both the Malieveld demonstration and the planned march.

The demonstration was prompted by the recent military strikes on Iran and ongoing domestic repression, including executions and arrests of civilians. The U.S. and Israel carried out the attacks on Iran on Saturday. President Donald Trump said the operations aimed to destroy Iran’s missile program and urged the Iranian population to seize power.

At least 53 students were killed when a U.S. missile struck an elementary school in Minab, in Iran’s southern Hormozgan province, Iranian authorities said. Residents in Tehran described panicked crowds rushing home and children fleeing schools as airstrikes hit the capital. Officials said the attacks struck both civilian sites and defense infrastructure, and communications were cut in parts of the country.
