Hina Javed murder case: Husband, domestic worker sent on physical remand

RAWALPINDI: A local court in Rawalpindi on Sunday sent two suspects arrested in the Hina Javed murder case on physical remand.
Hina’s body was found in a bathroom at her home in Rawalpindi’s Lalkurti area within the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines police station. She had been married for nine months to the main suspect, Faisal Asghar, according to the police officials.
The police produced Asghar and a domestic worker, Zeeshan, before the magistrate and sought their physical remand. The investigation officer said that they recovered a rope and wire allegedly used in the murder from the suspects.
Samples from both suspects were also collected for DNA testing, the police said.
Approving the police request, the magistrate sent the suspects in police custody on three-day physical remand.
Police further said the father of the alleged main suspect, Asghar, had also been included in the investigation. His statement has been recorded, according to police.
The police alleged that Faisal had paid his employee Zeeshan to participate in the murder. The domestic worker assisted Asghar during the killing, police added.
A murder case over Hina Javed’s death has been registered at the Civil Lines police station.
According to a first information report (FIR) registered on the complaint of the victim's brother, the woman's hands were tied behind her back, and her mouth was covered with a piece of cloth when her body was found.
