by Leigh Curtis · Derbyshire LivePaul Warne says there are currently no further contract talks planned with any of his Derby County players who are free to leave the club next summer.
Centre-back Curtis Nelson was recently rewarded with a new deal having been in the last year of his contract having been a standout performer this term, a move that was welcolmed by the supporters.
But there are nine other players who in the final 12 months of their deal, a list that includes the likes of Sonny Bradley, Kane Wilson, James Collins, Liam Thompson, Tyrese Fornah and Conor Washington.
However, there are no plans to enter any discussions with any of those players with Derby head coach Warne happy to sit tight for now.
"It sounds ridiculously selfish, but unless it is categorically a yes or a no, there is no reason to enter negotiations with anybody," he said.
"I've been pleased with a lot of players in the squad and there are some who would like to play more football and who I would like a bit more out of.
"It will look after itself. If anybody knocked on my door now and said what's the situation with my contract, and they had only played one game, I would say currently it's not looking amazing.
"They have now until January to get into the team and do well. And if you do, then we want to keep the best players at the club.
"Just because I've not selected them doesn't mean they are not a good player, it just means I've not selected them. I haven't shut my door mentally to any of them, but in equal measure, I've not had the need or neccessity to give them a contract."
