The BBC has confirmed she will be recording new episodes of Desert Island Discs and appearing on The One Show, where she is one of the co-presenters, in the next few weeks.

The presenter, 46, has been absent from the studios for around three months.

Sunderland-born Lauren will begin recording episodes of The One Show and BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs in November
