A young Irish woman has died in a climbing accident on a mountain range in Spain

The incident occurred yesterday evening near the village of El Chorro.

The body of the victim, who is believed to be British and aged in her 20s, was recovered by emergency services yesterday.

The 21-year-old is believed to have lost her balance while climbing with a male companion, who managed to survive by grabbing onto a rock as he fell

The victim died after falling from the infamous Caminito del Rey pathway, close to El Chorro village in Malaga, where another person also fell to their death less than a month ago.
