Eurovision: Hamas 7 October attack survivor to represent Israel
On 7 October 2023, Hamas and other militant groups launched a cross-border attack into southern Israel, killing over 1,200 people and taking hostages. Yuval Raphael, who was at the Nova music festival during the attack, won her place at Eurovision by coming first in a TV singing contest.
