Chief Magistrate Zaharaddeen Kofar Soro gave the order after the Katsina State Police Command arraigned Kurfi over alleged defamation of character and injurious falsehood.

Dr. Bashir Kurfi, an Ahmadu Bello University lecturer, was remanded after allegations that Katsina sponsored bandit leaders for Hajj led to criminal charges.
