Rochas Okorocha, ex-governor of Imo, has commented on the sacking of his successor, Hope Uzodimma, as the APC senatorial candidate for Imo West in the 2027 election

Justice Obiora Egwuatu, who delivered the judgment on Thursday, also directed the incumbent governor, Hope Uzodimma, to stop presenting himself as the party’s candidate for the January 16, 2027 senatorial election.

A Federal High Court has ordered INEC to publish Rochas Okorocha as APC’s Imo West candidate, barring Hope Uzodimma amid a disputed 2026 primary in Imo State.

APC Imo says it will appeal the court ruling that removed Hope Uzodimma as its 2027 Imo West senatorial candidate and recognised Rochas Okorocha instead.

Okorocha spoke on Thursday while hosting his legal team after the judgment delivered by Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

An Abuja court has ruled Rochas Okorocha won the APC primary for Imo West, ordering the party to name him and Hope Uzodinma to stop claiming the ticket now.
