External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar announced that his upcoming visit to Pakistan for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit later this month will focus on the multilateral event rather than India-Pakistan relations.

India announced on Friday that Jaishankar will travel to Pakistan this October for the SCO Summit in Islamabad. Farooq Abdullah expressed hope that the visit would start a friendly relations between the two countries.

Earlier in August, India received an invitation from Pakistan for the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) in-person meeting.

Pakistan is hosting the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) meeting on October 15 and 16.
