Amit Shah spoke to Devendra Fadnavis and Bhupendra Patel as heavy rain battered Maharashtra and Gujarat. The calls came amid transport disruption, evacuations, deaths and the Centre's offer of full assistance.

During the separate phone conversations, Amit Shah assured them of all possible assistance from the Centre in dealing with the rain-related situation, they said.
