Johnson & Johnson has agreed to a proposed $5.5 billion deal to settle about 76,000 baby powder ovarian cancer claims in the United States. The agreement could close a decade-long talc litigation battle if 95% of claimants accept it.

J&J said the settlement covers around 76,000 claims, representing nearly all remaining talc claims.
