The Reps urged the Nigerian Railway Corporation to disclose the cause of the accident publicly, implement measures to prevent a recurrence, and compensate affected passengers.

The Director-General of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC, Kayode Opeifa, has said the train involved in the Warri-Itakpe accident was not overloaded.
