North Lincolnshire Council revealed on Tuesday that 3,000 pensioners who would miss out on the winter fuel payment this year will now be given the £200 helping hand.

A procedural hearing has been assigned for next month with a substantive one-day hearing fixed for January 15.

After the new Labour Party government moved to shake-up Winter Fuel Allowance eligibility, state pensioners can now get £200 replacement payouts.
