The first of the funerals has taken place of the teenagers killed in last weekend's crash on the M9 in Co Kildare.

Joe Carthy was one of five teenagers who died when the car they were travelling in was driven the wrong way down the M9 and was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle.

Police say the teenagers, masked and suspected of a local crime spree, were driving a stolen BMW the wrong way down the m9 motorway when they struck a car carrying a Carlow family heading to a wedding. Crash was caused by crime and social media.
