Jerry Koosman won the decisive Game 5 of the 1969 World Series for the Miracle Mets. The left-hander spent 12 of his 19 MLB seasons in Queens.

“My friend,” Koosman said, “I don’t care what evidence you give me. There’ll never be another team like the ’69 Mets.”
