Tehran/Cairo — Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf has sharply rejected recent statements by former US President Donald Trump, calling them “false” and warning that continued pressure on Tehran could threaten the security of the Strait of Hormuz. According to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency, Qalibaf—who also headed Iran’s recent negotiation team in talks with the United States—said in a post on X that Trump had made “seven claims in one hour, all seven of which were false.” “The President of the United States made seven claims in one hour, all seven of which were false. They did not win the war with these lies, and they will certainly not get anywhere in negotiations either,” Qalibaf stated.
