The secretary of state is making his 10th visit to the Middle East since the Oct. 7 attacks. Until now, he has met with officials in Israel each time.

Blinken says “we’ve seen an event that makes the process more difficult, might derail it,” alluding to the recent attacks in Lebanon.

He said the US is still assessing the previous day’s deadly pager explosions, linked to Israel, in Lebanon.

Blinken makes 10th trip to the region since the start of the war
