Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Muizzu issued a joint statement on Monday highlighting the common understanding between the two nations.

Malaysia is intensifying efforts to strengthen collaboration within ASEAN and with neighbouring nations such as the Maldives.

At a joint press conference with Maldives President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, Anwar praised Muizzu’s bold decision to bar Israeli passport holders.

The commitment was made during the four-day official visit starting Sunday of Maldives President Dr Mohamed Muizzu to Malaysia.

Muizzu and his delegation, who arrived in Malaysia yesterday for a four-day official visit.

Noting that both countries are maritime nations, Anwar emphasised that the potential for collaboration is vast and continues to grow.
