Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Actor-filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife Michele were found stabbed to death at their Los Angeles home on Sunday, according to multiple reports.

The Los Angeles Police Department said it is investigating the deaths as “an apparent homicide.”

Two people have been found dead at the home of actor-director Rob Reiner in the United States, with law enforcement officials investigating the circumstances in an apparent homicide, the Los Angeles Police Department has said.

Legendary Hollywood director-actor Rob Reiner and his wife were found dead inside the couple’s Brentwood home in an apparent homicide Sunday, KTLA has confirmed. Medical personnel with the Los Angeles Fire Department received a call at around 3:38 p.m. and responded to the 200 block of South Chadbourne Avenue for medical aid. Investigators with the Los Angeles Police Department told KTLA that firefighters found Rob, 78, and Michele, 68, inside the home suffering suffering from stab wounds. The couple’s daughter was at the scene, though the suspect, possibly her brother, had left the area before police arrived.

UPDATE - 12/14/25 at 11 p.m.ET Legendary director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, have reportedly been found dead after being stabbed to death in their Los Angeles home.

Crews responded around 3:40 p.m. to the 200 block of Chadbourne Avenue, where they found a 78-year-old man and a woman believed to be about 68 years old dead, said Margaret Stewart, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The film community in Los Angeles is in shock following the death of the legendary director.

The police said they were seeking to interview "every family member" of the actor-director and his wife Michele Singer Reiner after their bodies were discovered in their home.
