LOS ANGELES >> The younger son of Hollywood filmmaker and political luminary Rob Reiner made his first court appearance today, charged with double murder in the stabbing deaths of his parents, but the arraignment was postponed for three weeks, and he did not enter a plea.

Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Nick Reiner's arraignment for the deaths of his parents, Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Singer Reiner, 70, was pushed to early January as he appeared in court for the first time on Wednesday.

Nick Reiner, the youngest son of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer, appeared in court in shackles and wearing a suicide prevention smock, as he faces charges of first-degree murder in the killing of his parents. 

Nick Reiner’s arraignment was postponed until Jan. 7 at his attorney’s request. He spoke only to say “yes, your honor” to agree to the date. He is being held without bail.
