Police and firefighters were targeted by fireworks, bricks and bottles in pockets of disorder across Scotland.

Officers were given stop and search powers to help prevent disorder during a Bonfire Night which saw missiles thrown at police.

Assistant Chief Constable of Police Scotland, Tim Mairs, has spoken out after emergency service workers came under attack on Bonfire Night in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

One officer was injured during one of the incidents, which saw youths hurling fireworks, bottles, and bricks at passing cars - including two fire service vehicles

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said three firefighters were attacked as chaos erupted in Edinburgh on November 5 and riot police were dispatched to the scenes.
