Russia is seeking to bribe Britain's MPs to undermine our democracy, police warned today as the former head of the Reform UK party in Wales was jailed for taking cash to back Putin's allies.

Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Former Reform UK politician Nathan Gill was sentenced to 10 years in prison for accepting bribes for making pro-Russia statements when he was a member of the European parliament.

Nathan Gill was sentenced to 10 and a half years on Friday after admitting he was paid to make pro-Russian speeches in the European Parliament.

Nathan Gill pleaded guilty to eight counts of bribery on dates between 6 December 2018 and 18 July 2019.

Judge Bobbie Cheema-Grubb described the case as a "sophisticated offending" and a "grave betrayal" of those who voted for him.
