NICK PISA IN LAGOS: The Daily Mail has learned that Joshua's driver did not have a valid driver's licence before the smash on Nigeria's most deadly road which hospitalised the multi-millionaire boxer.

The Ogun State Police Command says the driver of the Lexus SUV linked to the accident involving Anthony Joshua is in custody as investigations continue.

Police have announced the arrest of a driver in the accident involving former boxing world champion, Anthony Joshua, on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The driver of the car involved in the fatal crash in which two friends of British boxer Anthoy Joshua were killed has been held by police in Lagos. Joshua had a lucky escape from the accident on the busy highway between Lagos and Ibadan on December 29 and was discharged from hospital on January 1. The spokesperson of the command and a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, confirmed this on Thursday.
